Mobile Phone Car Navigation Mount
Industrial Design
Donn Koh was the concept lead for this project, with One & Co in 2009. The car navigation dock project was part of the 2010 Design Language programme. The aim was to investigate an aesthetic language that could embody the twin notions of 'car navigation' and 'professional business chic'. In particular, the drive was to move away from the 'rugged, sporty' feel of navigation devices, and towards a more sophisticated, restrained sleekness.
Tthe specific patented dock provided by HTC was to be redesigned to be simplified and be in line with such an aesthetic language. The dock redesign was produced for the Google Nexus One and the HTC HD2 for their in-car navigation usage.
